From its first steps as a Patchwork & Quilting class in January 2012 The Quiltshop now provides all the tools, fabrics and haberdashery for your quilt, yarn and stitching needs. As a fairly new business this was Roisin's first eCommerce venture.

To interact with the visitor using imagery. The target market are visual people and the eCommerce website needed to reflect this. The site should also be a learning resource with regular news and how to guides. Due to the nature of buying yarn, fabric and quilt online, custom and unique product options should be offered to provide something that competitors did not.

The quiltshop was built on the dmac eCommerce plus system with a few plugins for the custom features. The tiled image layout provides a visual interface which is simple to navigate and easy to change as used on the homepage. Each further category is then represented by images. Some bespoke functionality was developed to allow buying of fabric by the yard at a set cost. Even more bespoke is the ability to build a quilt using your own fabrics without ever picking up the phone.
